Charges have been laid following an investigation that started in the summer of 2025 by the Northern Rockies RCMP that resulted in the seizure of approximately five kilograms of suspected cocaine.

As part of the investigation, officers gathered evidence that was submitted to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada for charge assessment.  Charges have now been laid against 41-year-old Basim Mansur of Surrey, BC which include:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking;
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon.

As this matter is now before the courts, there are no further details publicly available at this time.
